Who should attend the classes?
These classes are designed for individuals and organizations from both the public and private sectors involved in public health. We welcome medical personnel, local, state and federal health department personnel, and professionals and military in security, law enforcement, public affairs, and interested professionals in other disciplines.

Credit versus non-credit
Courses taken for professional development may in no instance be later transferred to graduate credit.

Students wishing to take these courses for credit at other institutions should contact SLU’s Graduate School by email at grequest@slu.edu, or by phone at 314-977-2240.

Students will receive pre-course reading lists and a list of required textbooks prior to the first class session. It is expected that students will review the material prior to the beginning of class.

For-credit students will be required to take examinations or compose written assignments as directed by the course instructors. Non-credit (professional development) students will not have this requirement.

The Water Tower Inn
Saint Louis University is proud to present our newest on-campus facility, the Water Tower Inn.

Complete with 62 guest rooms, five meeting rooms, food service and a fitness center, the Water Tower Inn is perfect for both short term and extended stay guests. A limited number of guest rooms have been set aside until July 1, 2008 specifically for these class sessions as a special rate of $60 per day! Contact Jeremy at the hotel and identify yourself as a program attendee (314) 977-7500 for further information.

The Water Tower Inn is conveniently located in the same building as the School of Public Health. So the core Public Health classes will be held in the same location as your hotel! (the Bioterorrism classes will be held at the nearby Saint Louis University School of Nursing building)

Saint Louis University
The School of Public Health is part of a larger academic enterprise- Saint Louis University, one of the premier Catholic universities in the country dedicated to providing excellence in education and health care. The first university established west of the Mississippi River, it is the second oldest of the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in America.

Located in the heart of St. Louis, the University is a green, beautifully landscaped oasis identified in the St. Louis skyline by its copper-topped buildings. The University enrolls more than 11,000 day and evening students.

The School of Public Health
Saint Louis University School of Public Health holds the distinction of being the only school of public health in Missouri, and the only school of public health in the United States sponsored by a Catholic college or university. Another significant feature of the School was its early and continuing recognition of the need to establish strong ties between the School and the practice communities in cities and counties, the state and the nation.
