New on-site courses planned for Summer 2008—make plans to attend in St. Louis

The Institute for Biosecurity, having completed its first-ever one-week intensive on-site classes this summer, is busy preparing its on-site class offerings for Summer 2008.
The Institute anticipates that three courses will be offered next summer, and those courses will tentatively take place during July 2008. The courses will once again be one week in length, and will take place in a Monday-through-Friday time frame. Students currently enrolled in the Institute’s Master degree program in Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness (the MS degree, the Certificate program, or the Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness concentration within the Master of Public Health program) will be able to earn three credit hours towards their degree/certificate for each week’s class. In addition, graduate students enrolled in other programs at Saint Louis University may also take these courses for elective credit. And professionals of all types who have an interest in this field may attend these courses at a reduced rate for professional development.

The courses that are being developed have the following working titles:

  • Global Terrorism in the 21st Century
  • Biosecurity and Safety for Laboratories
  • Bioterrorism & Emerging Infectious Diseases

A detailed overview of each class will be available in the Institute’s Winter newsletter, and on the Institute website, http://bioterrorism.slu.edu.

More information can be found at the Institute homepage, http://bioterrorism.slu.edu.
