Affiliation Agreement with Philadelphia University’s MS in Disaster Medicine and Management

The Institute for Biosecurity has entered into an affiliation agreement for course-sharing with Philadelphia University. The recently signed agreement means that students in either the Institute’s masters degree program in Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness or in Philadelphia University’s MS degree in Disaster Medicine and Management (http://www.philau.edu/disastermed/) may complete coursework toward their degree at the other’s institution.

Philadelphia University offers the following general information about their degree program on their website:

The Master of Science in Disaster Medicine and Management is a comprehensive online graduate-degree program encompassing all facets of disaster management.

The program encompasses the study of terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, hazardous materials, natural disasters, psychological aspects of disasters, acute traumatic-stress intervention, public-health considerations of disasters, research methods and disaster planning and management including risk assessment, incident command and resource allocation.

Students in the Institute’s Biosecurity & Disaster Preparedness program who wish to complete online courses offered by Philadelphia University are encouraged to contact their advisor for more information regarding the administrative steps required to take advantage of this course-sharing affiliation agreement.
