Institute Directors meet with International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism Director

Bruce Clements and Bill Stanhope recently flew to Washington to meet with Dr. Boaz Gaynor, the founding director of the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) headquartered in Herzliya, Israel. The afternoon of discussions first centered around the ICT's participation in the Penn State-SLU response to the Department of Homeland Security solicitation for the establishment of a Center of Excellence in the Behavioral and Social Aspects of Terrorism and Counterterrorism. Secondly, discussions exploring inter-institute collaboration outside of the DHS proposal were begun.  As a result of that meeting, the two Institutes have begun the process of actively exchanging proposals centering on areas of mutual interest and opportunities for collaborative research. We fully expect that there will be a series of announcements about joint ventures for collaborative counterterrorism research and faculty exchanges occurring over the next several months.
