Rachel schwartz, phd, ms

Dr. Rachel Schwartz

Rachel D. Schwartz, MA, MS, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness. She has been trained in biosecurity and disaster preparedness, as well as curriculum development and education, writing, and working with vulnerable populations. She has also worked with the State of Missouri, Department of Health and Senior Services (CERT) to produce the state pandemic preparedness plan.

Dr. Schwartz is recognized as an expert in pandemic preparedness in correctional settings, and her current research interests include building resilience and coping mechanisms in the face of trauma, developing US policy on response to emerging infections, and improving the quality of technology-assisted education in the field of emergency preparedness.
