Greg Evans has been a faculty member at Saint Louis University for over 30 years, first working in environmental and cardiovascular research in the Medical School and then joining the School of Public Health as Director of the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health in 1986. While a faculty member in environmental health, he conducted a number of research projects including investigating dioxin exposure from hazardous waste sites, chlordane exposure from fish consumption, and lead poisoning in children.
In 2000 Dr. Evans became the founder and director of the Institute for Biosecurity. While Institute director, he has help develop and produce a large amount of educational material related to bioterrorism and other weapons of mass destruction. These have been distributed worldwide and were distributed by the Centers for Disease Control to New York City after the 9/11 attacks. In 2005, he started the academic programs in Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness at the School of Public Health. The program currently has over 100 students.
Dr. Evans is married, with a step-son and step-daughter, both going to school in Boston. He lives with my wife and two dogs that were rescued from the Humane Society. His hobbies are furniture making and weaving.
