BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT AND PANDEMIC PLANNING |
This course will give the student a very good understanding of
Business Continuity Management and Pandemic Planning concepts. The
first half of the class will lay a foundation for recovery of people,
places and technology in a business setting. The second half will
focus on the unique aspects of planning for a pandemic. |

Course Description:
This course will give the student a very good understanding of Business Continuity Management and Pandemic Planning concepts. The first half of the class will lay a foundation for recovery of people, places and technology in a business setting.
The second half will focus on the unique aspects of planning for a pandemic. Due to the advancement of the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, these topics will be interspersed throughout the course. |
Competencies:
• Learn terminology of business continuity and pandemic planning
• Gain a basic understanding of business continuity concepts and principles
• Delineate between business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency management
• Understand the history of past pandemics
• Learn best practices on preparing for a pandemic in the home, at work, and around the community |
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course a student will be able to:
• Understand techniques of Business Continuity Management
• Understand techniques of Pandemic Planning for Businesses
• Be able to create a business continuity plan for businesses |
